Neck rings are also used for body modifications. This tradition is found in Thailand. Thai women make their daughters to wear it at the age of five. Neck rings help their necks to become long which is the symbol of beauty in Thailand. These rings give enough long look to their necks but they destroy the shape of the shoulders of women. Today these women are only the source of attraction for the tourists but not the paragon of beauty.
Scarification is also very popular tradition that is found in various parts of Africa. They are permanent scars which show the person's social status, age, wealth and sexual desires. These scars are usually found in geometrical shape. They cut their skin to make these shapes and then put ash on these cuts to permanent these scars on their bodies. These marks are found on all the parts of body like face, leg, belly etc.
